All about the InkRunner

What is the InkRunner?

The InkRunner is a universal labeling device that can be used to apply all kinds of lettering and symbols to a variety of surfaces.

Which markers are compatible with the InkRunner?

For the InkRunner Markers such as the ONE4ALL acrylic marker in the 15 mm version from Molotow are required. The Endurance version requires the long marker, while the Pocket version uses short markers.

In our shop you will find suitable markers , both for the Pocket and the Endurance version.

On which surfaces can I use the InkRunner?

The InkRunner is versatile and ideal for use on smooth, porous and slightly textured surfaces such as wood, paper, cardboard, glass, concrete or plastic .

For very rough materials, we recommend a preliminary test , as severe unevenness can impair the readability of the writing.

For best results, we recommend using acrylic markers such as the Molotow ONE4ALL as they allow for controlled and even color transfer.

We do not recommend using alcohol-based permanent markers (e.g. Molotow PERMANENT ) on very smooth surfaces – there is a risk that the InkRunner will slip instead of rolling.

A good compromise are the Molotow COVERSALL markers :

They combine the opacity of permanent markers with improved adhesion, which significantly reduces slipping.

What is the difference between POCKET and ENDURANCE?

The difference between POCKET and ENDURANCE lies in the size of the marker used:

  • The Endurance version uses the long marker and is approximately 23 cm long when assembled – ideal for longer work without frequent refills.
  • The pocket version uses the short marker and measures approx. 17 cm – compact and handy, perfect for on the go.
  • Both versions work identically, differing only in length and handling.

How durable is the tip of the marker?

Thanks to the InkRunner's specially designed spring system, the marker tip is subjected to minimal stress during use.

We test every order before shipping and found that even after the last 100 orders tested with the same marker , no significant wear was noticeable on the tip.

In short: The tip lasts extremely long with normal use and rarely needs to be replaced.

Can I also use the InkRunner for temporary markings?

Yes!

In addition to permanent markings, you can also use the InkRunner for non-permanent labeling . Simply use the Molotow CHALK Marker (15 mm) instead of an acrylic marker. This allows for easy removal later.

Can I customize the text on the band?

Yes!

With the preview tool you can personalize the text on the ribbon according to your wishes.

You also have the option of submitting SVG files with logos or your own designs. We'll review them and then implement them for you

Are there instructions for assembly and use?

Yes!

The InkRunner comes with a detailed instruction manual that guides you step by step from assembly to optimal use.

The manual is also available online here: German - English

Troubleshooting

The marker does not fit into the housing

Check that you have the correct InkRunner version (Pocket or Endurance) and the correct marker (short or long). Details can be found in the product descriptions and above in the FAQ.

The role of the InkRunner blocked

Apply sufficient pressure so that the roller transfers the ink cleanly to the surface. Slight resistance is normal.

Also note the differences between acrylic, permanent, and COVERSALL markers described above.

The marker tip does not protrude from the housing

Make sure the marker is inserted in the correct orientation (as shown in the instructions and video tutorial below).

Also, always screw the InkRunner together with the roller facing down to prevent the marker from slipping back and not sitting correctly in the holder.

The writing is uneven or incomplete

  • Check if the tip is too dry or too saturated.
  • If there is not enough paint: Pump more using the pump button on the end of the housing.
  • If there is too much paint: Wipe the roller with a cloth or roll it several times until the amount of paint is optimal.
